Ryder by Prescott Lane: Release Blitz & Review

Ryder by Prescott Lane is now live!

Country music headliner, crowd pleaser, legend in the bedroom.

You know how your mother always warned you that it only takes one time. Well, I'm proof of that.

One night with country music's hottest star, Ryder Merrick, and I got knocked up.

He promised me it wasn't just a one night stand.

But I woke up alone, and a few weeks later found out I was carrying his child.

I'm sure Ryder won't want anything to do with us. After all, he's famous for not believing in love. There's a reason he's never written a love song.

Why should he change his tune now? But telling him I'm pregnant still feels like the right thing to do.

All it takes is maxing out my credit card to buy a front row seat to his concert.

And then wait for him to notice me... and my bump.

Review

So let me start off by telling you guys that my first ever Prescott Lane book was Knox. Which I absolutely adored! So when I was reading Knox & Ryder came along with all the hints about his tragic past I was already dying for his book! I knew from reading Knox that I would enjoy Ryder but I had no idea how much until I read the blurb. If you guys follow me on Instagram you probably read my post about how this book was my own personal kryptonite. I am a sucker for accidental pregnancy romance & especially one night stand accidental pregnancies! Also I seriously love rockstar romances! So put those two together & I was ecstatic! Now like I said I went into this book knowing I would love it. There's something about finding an author that you feel safe reading their stories because you know you will enjoy them on some level. They may not be your favorite but they wont put you to sleep. That's how I now feel about Prescott Lane. I do have one caveat but we will get to that later. Anyways I read about 1/4th of the book the first night and had to fight myself to put it down. The next night I read the next 1/4th & I was still loving it! By the way funny fact, my anniversary is on March 14th. If you read the book come back & laugh at me all you want. I busted a gut laughing when I read that part & then ran to my husband laugh crying & asked "Did you know about this?!" he says "Yup. Why do you think I always want steak on our anniversary?!" I had no freaking clue! *face palm* Moving on! So like I said earlier feeling safe with an author is a powerful thing to me. Now don't get me wrong I still feel safe to read all of Prescott Lane's books but from now on I will go in with a tad more caution because boy.. she killed me. The last 1/4th of this book killed me. The mark of a truly good book is when you feel so connected to the characters that you feel their pain & their happiness. That's what this book was for me. I was so invested I laughed my ass off then I bawled like a baby then I happy cried. It put me through the ringer but man was I so happy to go through it. I could go on and on about how well this book was written and how real the characters felt but I think by now you guys understand. I'm going to give Ryder 4.5 stars only because there is one detail that I would have liked to change but it definitely didn't ruin the book for me by any means.

Bravo Prescott Lane! Bravo!

Blurb: A sexy new friends-to-lovers standalone! Let me list the reasons why dating a sexy, charming, pro hockey star is a bad idea: 1. He’s one of my closest friends 2. All our friends are friends 3. The wounds I’ve got from past relationships go deep. And so do his. We’re both devoutly single -- it’s just safer for the heart that way. But there’s no reason not to bid on the gorgeous, clever athlete at the charity auction this weekend. If I win, it’ll be a friendsdate. And I do win. I win him big. And hard. And all night long. The trouble is . . . what happens in the morning?

An all new flirty, lighthearted, standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg guaranteed to make you swoon.

Blakely Foxx is having one of those years.

Her divorce may have been finalized a few months ago, but her ex is already engaged to someone half her age. Her younger boss is determined to sabotage her chance at getting the promotion she rightly deserves. And to make matters worse, she's closing in on the big 4-0. There isn't enough wine or ice cream in the world to convince her things will turn around.

When Blakely meets Slade Henderson, she's left wondering why an early-thirties, hotter than hell, cardiothoracic surgeon would take an interest in her.

She's been warned that he'll break her heart, but she's willing to take the chance. Not only is he helping her get that promotion, but in the process, he's encouraging her to find the parts of herself she's lost over the past few years.

Slade shows her that good guys really do exist, but who knew the hardest part about turning forty would be realizing the man you thought was a rebound, is actually your happily ever after?

Excerpt

“The way I look at it, you owe me one.” His voice is just loud enough for me to hear over the din of the restaurant.

“I owe it to you?” I sputter.

Mm-hm.” He nods resolutely as he puts more space between us, and my lungs find a way to breathe. “You ran out the other night without giving me a chance. I could be the best thing that ever happened to you—platonic or otherwise—and you might have missed that opportunity if we hadn’t run into each other on the street this afternoon.”

Or otherwise?

He’s talking nonsense but is doing it so convincingly that I try to talk myself out of what he’s successfully talking me in to. “I don’t—”

“Does my age unnerve you?” he asks.

“Your age doesn’t matter.”

“Exactly.” He smirks. “So, why are you making it matter?”

I walked right into that one.

“We’re at different phases of our lives. You’re in your residency. I’m a divorcĂ©e with baggage—”

“Everyone has baggage. It just looks different from person to person.” He leans back in his chair. “What are you afraid of? Getting to know someone new? Taking a chance? Stepping outside of the box for once? Finding yourself again?”

His words root deep into me and take hold. “I appreciate you trying . . . but we’ll never pull it off.”

“Yes, we could.”

“No one would ever believe it.”

“Quit letting them—whoever they are—put you in a mold, Blakely. Make your own damn mold. You might surprise yourself in the process.” His dimples deepen, and his eyes are as unwavering as his resolve.

“How do I know you aren’t some Ted Bundy in waiting?”

His laugh is throaty and rich and draws the stares of those around us. “I’m in the business of saving lives, not taking them.” He takes a sip of his beer. “Next excuse?”

“I’m . . .” I’m at a loss, and a small thrill of adrenaline shoots through me. This isn’t something I’d ever do, and yet, the idea of it is invigorating, almost freeing. I chew the inside of my cheek as I contemplate agreeing to Slade’s crazy scheme.

“What do you say?”

Say yes.

“It isn’t a crime for a younger man to think an older woman is attractive.”

I bite my bottom lip as the smile creeps around it.

He is drop-dead handsome.

“We go as friends. I help you out. No strings attached.”

The answer is yes.

“When’s the last time you threw caution to the wind? When’s the last time you did something unexpected no matter how small?” he asks.

It’s always yes.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this,” I mutter.

“Saying what?”

“Fine. Yes. Okay.”
