Just Joshin' Ya
Reflections of an uncensored kid
By: Joy Anna
Okay guys so I know this is not my usual thing but I just had to share this book with you! I had a chance encounter with this author here in Vegas at a nail salon. I listened to her tell me about her story & about how this book came to be. We swapped life stories while sitting comfortably getting our nails done. It was totally fate stepping in. Her courage blew me away. While undergoing chemo after a double mastectomy she needed something to lift her spirits & that something turned out to be her son. Now being a mom of two amazing boys I understand how much they truly can brighten any day. She took this a step further & wrote in her journal about all the cute & funny things her son would say that would put a smile on her face or make her laugh. This book is that journal. It comes straight form the heart & you can tell how much love she has for her son. It's so real, so cute & definitely made me laugh. It is the perfect quick read to lift your spirits. It only took me about 45 minutes to read the whole book but it was 45 minutes well spent. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is going through a hard time, or just wants a short but cute read. You can get it here: Amazon
Some of my favorite Parts:
"Joshua was looking in my wallet and spied my drivers licence. He saw the F under sex and said, "Wow mom you flunked sex? Is it because you didn't take it, or did you forget to study?"
"Joshua and I walked, holding hands. I asked him if he would always hold my hand, even when I'm old? He said, "No! When you're old, I will carry you."
I will definitely be following this lovely woman now & will keep you posted on her new releases. Her next book is called What Is Charlie Doing. No release date as of yet.

They say "laughter is the best medicine" and we could all use a laugh right about now, so thanks for the recommend.
